Dr Isaac Ruiz, MD, PhD, received his medical and surgical degree from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico in 2007. He graduated as a specialist in Hepatology and Gastroenterology from the University of Paris and the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (APHP) in France in 2013 under the supervision of Prof. Christophe Hézode. He did his subspecialty in Intensive Care and Liver Transplantation at the Paul Brousse Hospital, France under the supervision of Prof. Didier Samuel. He continued his studies with a master's degree in Cell Biology and Microbiology and therapeutic innovations under the supervision of Dr Abdelhakim Ahmed-Belkacem at the University of Paris XI. Finally, he has just finished his doctorate in Virology and Cellular and Molecular Biology at the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM Unit 955 team 18) under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Michel Pawlotsky at the University of Paris XII. His research focuses on Hepatology, Hepatitis C Virus and liver transplants.
