Lorena Torres


Candidate for a Doctorate in Political Science, (Laboratory TRIANGLE - UMR 5206, Sciences Po Lyon - University of Lyon II - ENS Lyon). She has a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from UNAM. She was a scholar of the International College of Graduates in the Master in Political Science by the Free University of Berlin, Germany; and she is a teacher in government and public affairs by the UNAM. She has a background in social water management in Montpellier, France. She studied at the Chinese Governance Academy on Governance Capacity Building in the People's Republic of China. And she trained in "Gender Equality and Gender Perspective in Teaching and Research in Higher Education Institutions" at the Free University of Berlin, Germany.

He is a member of the BlueGrass International Programme "Struggles for Blue Gold", funded by the French National Research Agency (2014-2018). He also collaborated in the Bourgeon "Sediments" Programme of the Environmental Law Institute of Lyon, France (2017). 

From 2015 to 2017, she was an associate researcher at the Center for Global Change and Sustainability in Mexico. She participated as a consultant in the project "Analysis of current and future vulnerability of water resources in the context of adaptation to climate change and with a focus on sustainable urban development in the states of southeastern Mexico" (INECC-UNDP). Between 2014 and 2015, she collaborated with the Development Research Institute (Institut de Recherche pour le Développement), through the field coordination of Dr. Eric Mollard. 

She is a professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of UNAM (since 2011), and at the National Institute of Public Administration (since 2016). She obtained the National Award for Bachelor Thesis in Public Administration in 2012, and the IAPEM Research Award in 2014. In 2018 she was awarded the Incentive for Doctoral Research (ARD) by the Institute of the Americas of France. 

Her publications include books: Las Influencias Políticas en el Medio Ambiente en México (2018) in coordination with Eric Mollard (IRD, France), Gestión del agua potable en la CDMX. Water Challenges: Governance and Sustainability (2017), Lerma System: A Political Vision in Public Water Management (2014). It also has scientific and popular articles on environmental issues and political theory. It has also given lectures in different institutions at an international level.

I work at the Regional Agency for Energy and Climate, in France, as part of the "Policy Leaders Program", coordinated by Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Campus France (2018). 

He is currently a member of the French Association of Political Science. He also participates in different academic councils of environmental organizations.
