WOMEN SCIENTISTS

Challenges in professional development

"Mujeres Científicas: desafíos en el desarrollo profesional" is the first event organised by the Association Synergie France-Mexique (ASFRAM), also recognised as the Paris Chapter of the Global Network of Mexicans Abroad (Red Global MX).

The main objective of this event is to publicise the professional trajectories of Mexican women scientists in leadership positions in research institutions in France, as well as to open a space for reflection and dialogue about the struggle for gender equality and the empowerment of women scientists.

ASFRAM is a structure made up of Mexican professionals residing in France, grouped to promote cultural, artistic, academic, scientific, technological and innovation development between France, Mexico and, more generally, Europe. Likewise, ASFRAM's ambition is to contribute to Mexico's positioning abroad and its development by promoting the transfer of knowledge, entrepreneurship and the creation of a community of innovation and collaboration.

More than 50% of the people affiliated to ASFRAM are women. With this event, which falls within the framework of International Women's Day 2019 and Goal 5 of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, ASFRAM wishes to contribute to the debate on the issue, identifying the obstacles faced by women in science and, at the same time, proposing solutions.
